New and Recommended!
I've had the pleasure of seeing Marc Zegans perform his poetry at the Lily Pad earlier this year and also at Erica Ferencik's Reading Series in Sudbury MA, and I can tell you that he is as gifted a reader as he is a writer. He had just released his latest CD, Marker and Parker, available at
CDBaby.com and also Discark.com and it should be on any poetry-lovers wish list.
What I love about Marc is that he had such amazing range of tone in his poetry. He can be sultry, humorous, wounded, or playful: he is always experimenting with content, tone, and rhythm. This is a delightful and beautifully crafted CD.
I'm a firm believer that poetry is meant to be HEARD. What makes Marker and Parker so much fun to listen to is that he is accompanied by a jazz music that is perfectly matched to the tone of each poem. Poetry is more closely related to music than to prose, and Marc makes great use of the cadence of the music and each line.
Get the CD to put in to your car on the drive home from work! Or better yet, on the drive TO work. It will change your outlook :)

Attended the Poet's House Grand Opening where I saw some poets I haven't seen before and I got pictures of all of them. See them HERE.
After the reading my sister Mary took me all around Tribeca and SoHo. Was a total blast but too short as always.
Marno was representin, natch.
Poet's House is a
library, workshop, and event center for all.
